Peg-INF Injection

 25,000

Peg-INF Injection (Pegylated Interferon Alfa-2a / Alfa-2b) is an antiviral and immunomodulatory medication used for the treatment of Chronic Hepatitis C and Chronic Hepatitis B infections. Pegylation enhances the half-life of interferon, allowing for once-weekly dosing and sustained antiviral activity.

Peg-INF stimulates the body’s immune response to suppress viral replication, reduce liver inflammation, and achieve sustained virologic response (SVR) in Hepatitis C patients. It also helps reduce viral load in chronic Hepatitis B cases, potentially slowing disease progression and reducing liver fibrosis.

Administered via subcutaneous injection, Peg-INF is usually part of combination therapy with Ribavirin for Hepatitis C treatment, particularly in patients with difficult-to-treat genotypes. The standard dosing schedule is once weekly for 24 to 48 weeks, depending on the viral genotype and patient’s clinical response.

Common side effects include flu-like symptoms (fever, fatigue, muscle aches), mood changes, decreased appetite, and hematological abnormalities (neutropenia, anemia). Close monitoring of blood counts and liver function is essential during therapy.

Store Peg-INF Injection in a refrigerator at 2°C to 8°C. Do not freeze. Protect from light and handle with care.
